What is photo and what is 3D?

Motion Capture

The experience is peppered with small special animations that loosen up the overall scene and tell small stories. These clips were recorded by actors in our Motion Capture Studio, retouched and finally assigned to the corresponding characters.

Photogrammetry

Half of the production team and additional cast models were equipped with historical costumes from ”Kostümfundus Babelsberg”, a pool of costumes. From coal seller to market woman to firefighter, all of the costumed people were transformed into 3D models via photogrammetry.

Charaktere

A whole range of characters was developed for TimeRide Cöln, some with a low geometry resolution for crowd animation, some with medium resolution for the special animations.
